In higher education, the library plays a vital role in the development of knowledge. It is not only a storehouse of books and other reading materials collected for preservation, but it also functions as a dynamic instrument of education, to feed the intellect of the teachers and students, to encourage the researchers of the faculty. Library invites all who are willing to take advantage of its intellectual and cultural richness. It would not be an exaggeration if it were said that a library is an essential pre-requisite for the successful implementation of the higher education programs of a university. University libraries serve as knowledge hubs, providing access to a wide range of resources necessary for higher education. They offer extensive collections of books, journals, research papers, and digital materials that cover various academic disciplines. The role of a library in the education process at any level, especially at the university level for the overall development of students such as personality, communication skill, career, and creativity is very significant. A well-organized library is essential for the teaching-learning process done in a university, especially when the emphasis is shifted from classroom teaching-centered process to self-study process. The quality of education is greatly linked with libraries. The information collected and disseminated by libraries decides the quality of the teaching and learning process in a university so as the quality of its graduates. The libraries of modern educational institutions have to plan, to develop and organize their library resources and services in such a way that it should facilitate retrieval of the desired information as quickly as possible and save the time of the users. The purpose of a library is to provide the right information to the right user at the right time in the right form.  

BUBT Central Library has been enriched continuously with latest editions of text and reference books for all academic disciplines. To make this enrichment process sustainable, there is a very strong Library Development Committee. The committee on a regular basis take decisions regarding procurement of new books, journals, online subscriptions, infrastructure development, library resources development (including manpower training), and implementation of library rules and policies.

The importance of BUBT library in disseminating quality education at BUBT is obvious. It is a well-planned and functional library. As such it has become the intellectual hub of BUBT for both students and teachers. We invite information seekers of knowledge to enjoy an intellectual feast in a calm and quiet environment. Books and periodicals are arranged systematically in shelves. BUBT library can be rightly called as an open sesame of the wardrobe of literature. We are committed to upgrade its richness to an unparalleled position amongst the universities of Bangladesh.
